Sidr and Aila are the most recent catastrophic disasters  because of climate change in Bangladesh. In the year of 2007 and 2009 these two catastrophic storms with flood killed at least 3770 people and affect thousand arcs agricultural land which has been merged by saline water, however, limitless damage has been happened in both nature and life. The most victims of these disasters are poor children who lost their parents during storm.

Gabtola and Bogirdosghor ( Shoronkhula ) are two villages of costal district Bagharhat of Bangladesh. Both Sidr and Aila strom crudely attacked these two villages. More than 50 children have lost their parents in  these two villages! They are now orphan, climate orphan. Lily is one of them.

“When water was coming, I went out of house and started running with my full energy towards cyclone centre! I was feeling like the way was not finishing! On the way, water pushed floated me and I started swimming! I saw; beside me, one girl is floating! I thought she is dead! Then I touched and said, are you alive ? She said, I am alive, I am Maksuda! Are you Lilly? Please hold my hand, do not leave me! I have lost everybody! Wherever I go will take you with me, so please follow me! I will also follow, Alright? Then I followed her to save my life! During storm, there was rain with big raindrops! I was injured with the big raindrops! During swimming I felt, I am having nightmare!

Like other children, she also did not know the reasons of climate change, reasons of storm with flood! She only knew, her parents died during storm! She also returned from the door of death! She now lives with her widow poor grandmother. Her grandmother testimony is

“Just before a while of the storm  whole River was pour! No water! Suddenly huge water came with big wave, pushed and overlaps around! To see the lightening bolt and clouds in the sky we assumed the storm is coming, we were hearing the roar of the sea! Just after the water wave came, pushed our house and broken most of all! After that, I do not know what was happen! I was senseless! In the early morning, I was feeling the storm would be stopped! I was hearing, the sound of names calling around with tears! Everybody was calling his or her missing relatives! I had lost Lilly and Rakibul from my hand! Then I also felt to search and started to call! However, I did not get any response! Suddenly I found both my brother and sisters together beneath a tree! Everybody was  half-naked! There was no house, whole environment became plain-land with massacres! In the 5 days after disaster, I found Lilly’s mother under a tree but could not find her father! The death body was swelling up! We could not make funereal properly….

Her younger brother Rakibul also could save life! As he was a little boy, cannot remember all but try to recall that bitter experiences

Although Lily is an orphan but did not lose hope to live life! She lives in a broken hut with grandmother! She lives with dreams, regularly goes to school and singing song…

জলবায়ূ এতিম – সবর্হারা লাইলীর জীবন কাহিনি যে ঝড়ে তার বাবা মা দু’জনকেই হারিয়েছে!

জলবায়ূ পরিবর্তনের ফলে ঘটে য্ওায়া দূযোগের মধ্যে সিওডর আর আইলা বাংলাদেশে ঘটায়  সবচেয়ে বড় ও ক্ষতিকর প্রলয়ংকারী ঝড়। ২০০৭ এবং ২০০৯ সালে এ দুটি ঝড়ে ৩৭৭০জনমানুষ প্রাণ হারিয়েছে , হাজার হাজার বিগা জমি লুনা পানিতে তলিয়ে গেছে, সম্পদ আর প্রকৃতির হয়েছে অপূরনীয় ক্ষতি। সবচেয়ে বেশী ক্ষতি হয়েছে দরিদ্র সে সব শিশুর যারা র্দূযোগে মা – বাবা দুজ’নই হারিয়েছে।

বাংলাদেশে উপকুলীয় জেলাবাগেরহাটের গাবতলা ও বগি দশঘর এই দুটি গ্রামেই আইলা আর সিউডর দুইবারই বিপুল ভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ হয়। ৫০ জনের মতো শিশু মা বাবা হারিয়ে আজ এতিম, জলবায়ু এতিম। এমন একজন জলবায়ু এতিমের নাম হচ্ছে লাইলি” ।

অন্যান্য শিশুর মতো সেও জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের কারণ জানে না, জানে না কেন বন্যা সাথে সাথে ভয়ংকর ঝড় হয়। তার  কোন অভিযোগ নেই। সে শুধু জানে ঝড়ে তার বাবা মা মারা গছেে । সে নিজেও মৃত্যুর হাত থেকে বেচে এসেছে। সেই দিনের অভিজ্ঞতা লাইলী বর্ননা দেয় এভাবে।

আমার হেই চাচা আযান দেয়, কাঁনদে আর আযান দেয়। চাচায় কই কি জানি গরমগরম লাগে। এটা বলার পর চাইয়ে দেখি নীচে পানি। মায়ে আবার কইছে ভুবুুরে, আমি যাই, আমার ভাইয়ের পোলা দুইটারে দিয়ে গেলাম তোমার কাছে, তুমি দেইখ – এর পর মায়ে লাফ দিছে। আমার ভুবু গাছের তল চাপা পরছে, চাপা পরছে পর আমার ভাই ছোইটা গেছে। হের পর আমার ভুবু কই তুই আমারে ছাইড়াদে, দাবী দোয়া রাহিসনা- তুই আমারে ছাইরে দে আমি বাচুম না। তার আমি কই না ভুবু তুমি যতখন আছ আমি তোমারে ছাড়–ম না, আমি ভুবুর চুল ধইরে রইছি। আমি তোমারে ছাড়–ম না, তুমি মরলে আমিও মরমু। এর মধ্যে পানিতে আরও ভইরেগেছে আমরা কাঠের উপর দিয়ে বাইরে গেছি। এর পর আমি আমার নানির হাতের থেকে ছোইটা গেছি। এমন দৌড় দৌড়াইছি, আমার মনে হয় সাইক্লোনে গেছি। কিন্তু দৌড়াই পথ আগাইনা, জাগারতা আমরা জাগায়। আমি ধরছি এক মহিলারে, তার চুল ধরছি। সে আমারে কামড় মারছে এর পর আমি ছাইড়ে দিছ্ ি। তার পর আমরা দৌড় দিছি। এর মনে হয় আরা বাচমু না আমি হাত পা ছাইরা দিয়ে বাসন লইছি। এর পর দেহি একটা মেয়ে ভাইসে যায়, আমি মনে করছি মরা। তারে আমি থাবা দিয়ে ধরছি, কই তুই মরা না জেতা। হে কই আমি মরা না আমি মাকছুদা। হে কয়, তুই কি লাইলী। আমি বলি হ। কয় তুমি না মোরে ছাড়বিনা। মুই (আমি) সবাইরে ছাইরে আছি, তুই)মোরে (আমারে) ছাড়বিনা, আমি যেথাই যাই তুই মোর লগে লগে আবি। আর তুই যেখানে যাস আমি তর লগে লগে যামু। এহন মাইয়াটা যদি ছোইটা যায় আমি মাইয়াটার লগে লগে যাই আর আমি যদি ছোইটা যাই মাইয়াটা মোর লগে লগে যায়। আর একটা ফোটা পরে হাই সওয়া যায়না বড় বড় পিঠে ব্যথা পাই। আমি যত সাতার কাটছি ভাববো যে আমি স্বপ্নের যরে।

এখন সে তার বিধুবা দাদীর সঙ্গে চরম দারিদ্তায় বাস করে। তার দাদী বলেন,

কোন পানি নদীতে নাই, একবারে শোকয়ে ভাজা ভাজা হয়েগেছে। ঐ জাপ কইরে পানি টা লয়ে গেছে আর ফস কইরে পানিটা উঠাইছে। এই খিইছে ধাবার আর বাতাস মোচুড় মোচুড় খালি ভাংগে গাছ গাছালি। এতির মধ্যে শোনছি শোন শোন কইরে ডাকতেছে ঐ পানি আয়। শোন শোন কইরে ডাকতেছে., ডাক দিয়ে যে জোড়ে পানি আইছে হে চোড়ে ঘর পাডার উপর থেইকা নামায় ফালাইছে। এই মোরা সবাই লাফ দিছি । লাফ দিছিতো আ কিছু কইতে পারি না, হের পরেযে কি হয়েগেছে কিছু কইতে পারি না। নাতি পুতি কই আর আমি কই তে পারি না। ফজরের সময় যখন পশ্চিমা বাতাস ছাড়ছে হেই সময় সবাই, শোনি কান্দাকাটি চিড়ে চিড়ে, এদিক ওদিক কান্দে আর মাইয়া পোলারে বোলায়। হেই সময় আমার হোশ হইছে যে মুইতো বোলাই দেখতে পারি ওরা আছেনি

কোনখানে। আমি বোলাই এই লাইলী এ রাকিবুল এ ইলিয়াশ ব্লোাই। কিন্তু এরা সারা দেয়না। এরা তিন ভাই বোনে একটা বয়ছে, কেমনে উঠছে আমি কইতে পারিনা। তিন ভাই বোন এক ডালে উঠছে। ঐ নাতি মোরে কইছে আমি তিন চারজনরে ধরছি, আমারে ছিড়ে মাইরে ফালায় দিছে। পরনে কোন ব্যক্তির কোন কাপড় চোপড় নাই। যত মানুষ খালি পড়নে একটু ছায়া, কারো গায়ে বালাউজ, কারো একটু ছেড়া তেনা  কারো গায়েতো নাই। কোন জাগায়তো কিছু নাই। বাড়ি নাই ঘর নাই কিছু নাই সব সমান। ওর মায়েরে পাঁচদিনের দিন এখানে ধান গাছ। ধান গাছের মধ্যে চামবল গাছ পড়ছে, চাবল গাছের তলে। যাইয়ে দেহি গাছের তলে কোন ধরার কাইদা নাই। শোকনা মানুষ ফোইলা মোটা হয়েগেছে আর সব পইছেগেছ্।ে এই কাফন দিছে, কাফন দিয়ে সাইঝাইতেও পারি না ঠেইলে উপরে থুইয়ে কাফন দিয়ে ডাইকা থুইছে। যে সময় লাফ দিয়ে ঘর থেইকা পড়ছি করে ওরে পানি। কইছে ও মা তুমি লইলীরে রাকিবুলরে ধরি দিয়ে, তোমার কাপড় দিয়ে তোমার হাতে বাইন্দা নিও, মরও যদি তাহলে কয়েক জনে একখানে হয়ে মরতে পারও। তো হে সময়ও নাই বাধতেও পারি নাই নাতিগরে রাখতেও পারিনাই।

লাইলী এতিম হল্ওে সে জীবনের আশা হারায়নি। দাদীর সঙ্গে একটি কুড়ে ঘরে থাকে। আর বেছে থাকার স্বপ্ন দেখে, গান গায় , নিয়মিত স্কুলে যায়।

ফাঁনদে পড়িয়া বগা কান্দরে। ফাঁন পাইতাছে ফানদোয়া ভাই, পুটি মাছো দিয়া। ওরে পুটি মাছের লোভে বগা পরল উড়াল দিয়ারে।  ফাঁনদে পড়িয়া বগা কান্দরে।
