স্বাধীনতা দিবস: Grassroots Celebration in Bangladesh. Expressing patriotic spirit in the independent day, is general trends and motivations for citizen of any country either poor or developed nations. In this day, is generally consider as a special day from general citizen to head of state. Bangladesh also follow this norm from the beginning. In this day the capital Dhaka becomes a city of light and joy. The park, restaurant and entertainment places become crammed full place. The newspapers publish special issues; the media broadcast daylong independence link historical and inspirational programs.

To feature Independence day celebration in grassroots level, we went a remote area, 120 kilometer far from Dhaka. We were impressed to see the huge participation and inspiration of local people particularly rural youth and students. Schools, collages and educational institutes widely joined in the local events with song, dance, parade and fun-acting etc. Although there is no media coverage and national reorganization, but the children and young show impressive patriotism with the patronization of local civil society and administration. Muktagacha Upazila starts the day by offering flower in local ‘Shahid Minar ‘ ( martyr monument). From the early morning, children and youth start to gather in “RK High School” play ground with flag and festoons. The entire environment become cheerful with the joy of freedom.
