Machizo Director Shahjahan Siraj participated in Transmission Asia-Pacific 2008 in Sukabumi, Indonesia (19–25 May 2008), a regional gathering of video activists and free software developers promoting social justice and media democracy.
Two Machizo documentaries—“Riding on a Rickshaw” and “Flood ’07”—were screened at the event, highlighting the realities and struggles of grassroots communities in Bangladesh. The films received appreciation from the international audience.
Organized by EngageMedia and ruangrupa, the event created a platform for sharing stories through independent media and digital technology.
